 Programs Cleveland Center

Infants

Like every room, our infant room has a strict daily schedule with weekly lesson plans the teachers follow. Our lesson plans are based off of the GELDS curriculum; within these standards promotes cognitive, physical, and mental development. Our center provides age appropriate toys and books for the children. Small group activities as well as tummy time and music play are promoted throughout each day.  Arts and crafts are created daily and are sent home weekly.

We provide age appropriate meals starting with cereal, oatmeal, and baby food and introduce the infants to table foods based on parent's approval and the guidelines set by USDA.

Toddlers

Toddlers assimilate knowledge through exploring their surroundings and interacting with the world around them. Kidz Korner Child Care promotes this learning technique through utilizing the Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards also known as GELDS. Through these standards promotes gross motor skills, fine motor skills, self help skills (recognizing feelings) and health/well-being skills. These standards also help the children to recognize the use of senses, promote physical activity, and independent play. While in the classroom the teachers provide hands-on learning activities such as: teacher directed small and large group, music play as well as dramatic play. Your child will begin to recognize his or her name, letters of the alphabet, colors, shapes, numbers, and much more.

Potty training will begin around the age of 18 months.

Three's

In our three year old classroom the children are introduced into a more standardized classroom, our goal is to prepare each child with the skills he or she needs to proceed to a pre-school classroom. Your child will be exposed to skills such as mathematics, science, literature, music and arts. Using the GELDS guidelines the children will be provided with age appropriate activities to promote skills such as motor skills, attentiveness, persistence, learning through exploration, as well as communication and problem solving skills. Your child will begin to develop the skills to write his or her name and letters of the alphabet, begin measuring, counting, and much more.
